Vision and Mission

CAIR-KY shares the vision of CAIR National, which is to be a leading advocate for justice and mutual understanding.

CAIR-KY mission is to enhance understanding of Islam, encourage dialogue, protect civil liberties, empower American Muslims, and build coalitions that promote justice and mutual understanding.



The goals of Committees within CAIR-KY are as follows:


CIVIL RIGHTS COMMITTEE

The Civil Rights Committee is the civil rights advocacy arm of our chapter and will respond to reports CAIR Kentucky Lexington Chapter received of alleged abuses of civil rights of Muslims in Kentucky.



OUTREACH COMMITTEE

The Outreach Committee is the outreach arm of CAIR Kentucky Lexington Chapter. The Outreach Committee seeks to provide a public face and voice for Muslims of Kentucky by building bridges and partnerships with interfaith and social advocacy groups, interfacing with government officials, correcting false and negative images of Muslims and Islam in the media and creating media opportunities for positive images of Muslims and Islam.



COMMUNITY EMPOWERMENT AND EDUCATION COMMITTEE

The Community Empowerment and Education Committee works to serve the Muslim communities of Kentucky by planning, organizing and offering educational opportunities that empowers Muslims of Kentucky to take advantage of and advocate for their rights and privileges as defined under American law.
